I have been spending time learning Ruby on Rails (RoR) recently and I decided to throw together a list of resources that I found useful getting started.
I recommend getting started with these articles:
- What is Ruby on Rails
- Rolling with Ruby on Rails
- Rolling with Ruby on Rails, Part 2
- Really Getting Started in Rails
- Ajax on Rails
Here are some tools for working with RoR:
- Using the Ruby Development Tools plug-in for Eclipse
- Setting up a Rails Development Environment on Windows Using Eclipse
- Ruby on Rails made easier on OS X
I have also looked into Trails which is a Java framework based on Hibernate 3 and Tapestry that borrows a lot from Rails. Here are two articles for getting started with Trails:
If you are into Python, check out this slashdot article on TurboGears.
